Volunteer Form

The printable Volunteer Form requires Adobe's PDF reader

Submit contact info online today and we will contact you to talk about the festival and help you choose a way to help that works for you!

Dear Friend of The Appalachian Festival:

The 39th Annual Appalachian Festival will be held Friday, May 9th - Sunday, May 11th, at Coney Island – and we need your help! Volunteers at least 18-years-old* are needed to help with all aspects of the Festival including setting up, gate admissions, children's programming/crafts, assisting in traditional arts/crafts & living history demonstration areas, set-up and staging, food prep in our volunteer hospitality tent, running errands, assisting with exhibitors’ exiting process and "tearing down" on Sunday evening.

* Volunteers from 13-17 years old are welcome to volunteer, however, their parent/legal guardian must directly supervise them.

On Friday, May 11th, approximately 4,000 - 4th Grade school students attend the Festival to learn about Appalachian Culture. We want to ensure that the day is full of fun, learning and safety. We have a special need for volunteers, who’re comfortable with children, to assist with kids crafts and children’s games on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Bring your friends or co-workers to help out too!

Please register before April 18, 2008:

Mail: Appalachian Festival
543 Roebling Road
Cincinnati, OH 45238
Fax: 513-251-3377
Email: Register through website www.appalachianfestival.org

Whenever possible, you’ll be scheduled for your requested time(s). However, I may ask you to
volunteer at a slightly different time, depending on our scheduling needs. For example, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Sunday mornings are very busy times requiring more volunteers.

Once you register, you’ll receive a letter confirming your scheduled day(s) and time(s). On the first day you’re scheduled to volunteer, bring that letter with you, so you can be admitted to the parking area for free. Once inside the park, report to the Volunteer Check-In, which is at The Lost River Pavilion #1, which is closest to the Ohio River, from the West Gate. There, you'll get a name badge and an assignment. As always, Festival Volunteers park for FREE and are admitted to the Festival FREE all weekend – just show ‘em your name badge at the parking & admission gates!

If you later find you need to change your time or cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Since the Appalachian Festival is an all-volunteer event, we depend heavily on your help!

Festival information and entertainment schedules are being posted to the website as they become available. Please pass this letter/form on to your friends and/or co-workers. Make it a day - bring a group to volunteer! If you’re interested in working on a committee, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Paulene Eyer
